In Continued Use is the Fair Market Value of an asset in consideration of its current use in the context of its operations.

Typically used for assets acquired through company acquisitions. This typically understands the assets in the most valuable context of its highest and best use.

In-Place

In-Placed is the Fair Market Value of an asset in consideration of how it is installed and where it is located.

Typically used in the value of individual production lines and equipment where the installation and engineering provide significant value to the asset.

In-Exchange

In-Exchange or Removed is the Fair Market Value of an asset, considering how it would transact in the open market.

Typically used in financing an asset or other considerations in which the value being applied is removed from the asset's use.

 

The amortization period (15-years) of good will is shorter lived than most depreciable assets.
